Friends of UKirk,
This month, I want to take a moment to shine a light on some of the most dedicated but often unseen hands behind UKirk MTSU—our wonderful Board of Directors.
First, let me express my deep gratitude for this incredible group of people. Their support, leadership, and faithfulness ensure that UKirk continues to be a welcoming and thriving ministry for students.
They serve with diligence, meeting almost every month to track finances, fundraise, maintain our facilities, and ensure our campus minister and student leaders are well-supported. But their impact goes far beyond the routine work of governance. They show up for students, whether by providing our annual Thanksgiving Meal, organizing workdays to care for our space, or simply being present in meaningful ways.
They also make long-term investments that will sustain UKirk for years to come. In recent years, they have: Restarted the ministry and navigated the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Made strategic financial decisions, including selling an unsustainable property to reinvest in our main ministry house. Undertaken major renovations to our ministry home, updating 1940s electrical wiring, replacing plaster walls, installing energy-efficient windows and doors, and reducing long-term costs.
Through their hard work and commitment, they have helped secure the future of UKirk MTSU.
Many of our board members have faithfully served long successful terms, and will soon pass the torch to the next generation of leaders. We are so grateful for their service to this ministry and their love for college students. Their legacy will continue to shape UKirk MTSU for many years to come.

Thanks, Rev. Chris Warren (Interim President, First Cumberland Murfreesboro), Matthew Hibdon (Secretary, Alumni), Lisa Jordan (Finance Chair, First Presbyterian Smyrna), Julie Corcoran (First Presbyterian Murfreesboro), Karen Winford (Rockvale Cumberland Presbyterian), and Dyanna Puckett (Former President, recently expired term, First Cumberland Murfreesboro)!
And a big thanks to the Churches that have helped to shape these wonderful leaders!
If you or someone from your church has a heart for college students and would like to share of your gifts and time through board service please consider reaching out!
Thanks,
Rev. Micah Watson
